Come join the fun as we work training skills and turn training issues into training solutions!

Week 1: Small dog challenges, training and trialing. First up, height, let’s build skill and confidence in finding and staying at source with height hides. To pick up or not to pick up? How to reward inaccessible hides at source and keep your nice alert behavior.

Week 2: Double Dare Ya! How can you turn down a double dare? That’s what we ask our dogs when we start to put hides in places that might be challenging for them. Making a training plan that increases your small dog’s confidence in accessing hides and putting it in motion.

Week 3: Air flow and how it affects a small dog’s ability to search. Small dogs can be challenged by the limited ability to get in and out of scent cones. As handlers we can work on recognizing the signs of this and have a training plan to help them, and also a trialing plan, so you can find that hard hide!

Week 4: Vehicles and small dogs. Setting up searches that teach your dog how to access odor without going under a car or missing a hide. Watch the light bulb go on as your dog learns how to source a hide by moving around multiple vehicles.
